2.5 Thesaurus¶

Summary

This tutorial is an introduction to the concept of Thesaurus in Sanduq. In this tutorial, we break down what the Thesaurus 1.0 is and what goes into creating a Thesaurus 1.0 term.

What is Thesaurus 1.0?¶

Thesaurus 1.0 is a concept in Sanduq that represents any and all terms (or keywords) that are relevant to any and all Assets. We may use the singular form- Thesaurus Term. We call it Thesaurus 1.0 because this is the first version of this concept which is flat (has no hierarchy structure) & isolated (does not have any information of related terms).

In the months following the initial March Launch, Thesaurus 1.0 will be replaced by the more complex and involved Controlled Vocabulary core concept which we will not discuss in this documentation.

Create Term Form¶

The metadata attributes of a Thesaurus Term correspond to the fields in the Create Term Form. This is the form that allows a cataloguer to create a Thesaurus Term in Sanduq.
